Placebos in Schizophrenia Research: An Historical Overview and Introduction to Ethical Issues

Abstract This short introduction provides a historical and ethical overview of placebos placebo controls in relation to schizophrenia research, with focus on long-term clinical trials. Drawing philosophical scholarship, it sketches two-level analysis issues that the effect raise for field, particularly light shifts trial methodologies practices.
